Star Ocean 4 and Ninja blade are coming out this quarter alone. That's 3 exclusives this business quarter along with a bunch of exclusive DLC. What exclusives does Sony have scheduled for release this business quarter that is so great by comparison? KZ2 and *crickets*

If Killzone 2 doesn't sell more than 3 million then the PS3 is dead. Sony will drop support by 2010. A successful console needs a self-published blockbuster and so far Sony productions has yet to produce one.

If vgchartz numbers are positive for the PS3 then they are dead on and we ignore NPD (who incidentally have much lower LBP sales numbers in North America than VGchartz does.)

However, if Vgchartz has numbers that are in the 360's favor then feel free to type, "omg, vgchartz. no credibility. lol wait for NPD numbers"

I never understand why people buy Macs these days and this is coming from someone who used Apple computers exclusively throughout the nineties until 2001 in the days when Macs weren't popular and people thought Apple would go out of business. I now use PCs because Macs are just over-priced and their OS isn't any better than windows, maybe worse in some ways. also, there is a much smaller software selection for Macs. Just don't get the Mac thing. Guess it's a fad like the Wii.

no one really knows what the failure rate for each console is. also, the problem with Playstations in general is their longevity. seeing that the PS3 is over 2 years old we should expect more of these problems to start appearing. Back in the day, PS2s started dropping like flies after a couple years. But, what do I know? I've only been gaming since the 80's.

So Microsoft was making a little under 11 billion dollars more per year than Sony. Now...

'O8 holiday season (November and December) was a big step backwards and that's why they're reporting a 1.5 billion dollar loss this quarter. I would put them at about 20 million units sold overall so MS was correct about having an eight million console lead and they've actually widened the gap from the 6 million console lead they had when the PS3 first came out.

Sony said themselves that their 2008 holiday season was worse than their 2007. Things kind of went backwards for them due to the 360 price drop.

looks like sites like VGchartz and NPD were severely over-tracking PS3 sales. VGchartz has them at 19.86M. I would guess that MS will come back with a retort and say they're leading by more now.

edit: nevermind, these are only sales figures until Sept '08 so Vgchartz is probably correct. MS is approx 8 million ahead widening the 6 million lead it had when the PS3 first came out.
